On 10/20/2023 at approximately 0713 hours AST received report of a motor vehicle collision on Church Road in Wasilla.
Troopers responded and a subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Derek Johnson, an 18-year-old man from Chugiak.
Derek was charged with driving under the influence and was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial.

On 10/20/23 at 1500 hours, the Alaska State Troopers located and arrested Michael Cloud age 34 of Wasilla for his $1,000 active arrest warrant. Cloud was transported and remanded at Matsu Pretrial.

On 10/19/23 at 1724 hours, the Alaska State Troopers were notified of an assault of a family member at a residence in Wasilla. Investigation revealed, Alexandria Herrera age 28 of Wasilla, assaulted a family member and drove away from the residence while intoxicated. Herrera was located driving her vehicle. Herrera refused field sobriety testing as well as refusing to provide a sample of her breath. Further investigation revealed Herrera has two previous convictions for DUI in the last ten years, thus making this a felony for her. Herrera was arrested and remanded at Matsu Pretrial for Assault in the 4th degree, Driving While Under the Influence (Felony) and Refusing to Provide a Breath Sample (Felony).

Update 10/19/2023: Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks located the vehicle and arrested Paul Peter, 47 years old. He was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center on 1 count of Vehicle Theft in the 1st degree and DUI.
On 10/18/2023, Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks received a report of a 1994 Ford Pickup bearing AK plate GWY790 stolen from a residence on Farmers Loop. The vehicle is green in color, has dents and hammer marks on the fender, and has plexiglass in place of the rear window. The truck has been entered into stolen status and investigation is ongoing.

On October 19, 2023 at approximately 2008 hours Mark Aamodt called 911 and did not have an emergency to report. He was warned multiple times by dispatch and by a Trooper to not misuse the 911 call system. Mark called 911 over 18 times. Fairbanks troopers arrested Mark Aamodt in the area of 21 mile of the Elliot Highway for interfering with emergency communications. Mark was remanded to FCC.

On 10/19/23 at approximately 1200 hours, the Fairbanks Alaska State Troopers received a report of a hit in run at mile 343 of the Richardson Highway. The driver of a mid-sized car reported that a person driving a dark color Dodge Ram pick up truck struck them as they were driving and caused them to wreck. The driver of the truck did not stop to render aide or provide the necessary information for a wreck. No injuries were reported although there was significant damage to the car.

On October 20, 2023 at approximately 1445 hours Fairbanks AST received a REDDI report of a white minivan losing control and driving into the oncoming lane. Units from Fairbanks AST and Fairbanks PD responded to Fred Meyers on the Old Steese Highway. Responding units determined the driver of the vehicle, Kathryn Arlen, was driving under the influence of alcohol, with a disabled adult under her supervision. She was arrested and remanded to FCC for DUI and Reckless Endangerment.
